Why the customer-provided vehicle model is different

DOD is designed around a vehicle the customer or business already controls. This changes the booking information, insurance questions, driver matching and pre-trip checks compared with a traditional taxi or rideshare journey.

What 'verified driver' should mean in practice

Verification should be specific and current: identity, licence status, relevant classes and endorsements, work eligibility and applicable background information. It should also include expiry monitoring and a process for reviewing material changes.

What responsible Auckland launch readiness looks like

DOD is preparing personal and business services for launch together on 2 November 2026, subject to product alignment. Preparation includes product testing, verification processes, payments, support, incident handling, privacy, insurance clarity and enough suitable drivers for approved use cases.

Why the same vehicle cannot have overlapping bookings

A vehicle already assigned to an active trip cannot safely or accurately be promised to another driver. DOD can allow a customer to create another trip during an active journey only when it uses a different eligible vehicle.
