Sagirmohammad S. Vohra founded Driver on Demand after recognising a simple but often overlooked problem: many people already have a suitable vehicle, yet illness, injury, fatigue, medication, age, an event or a temporary circumstance can mean they cannot—or should not—drive it themselves.
Drawing on experience in business management, leadership and customer service, he shaped DOD around a different connection. The customer or business provides the eligible vehicle; DOD helps arrange a verified, suitably licensed driver for the journey.
His vision is to build a responsible New Zealand marketplace that supports personal independence, gives families another practical option, helps approved businesses address temporary driving needs, and creates flexible opportunities for qualified drivers. Auckland is the starting community, with personal and business services launching together on 2 November 2026, subject to product alignment.

Why Driver on Demand was created
The idea began with a practical question: what happens when someone has a suitable car but cannot drive it today? DOD is being built to create another option—one that retains the customer's vehicle while bringing verified driving capability to the journey.
